Monday April 3rd, 2006...only 7 days!!!

Okay today has not been a wonderful day.....I am constantly on the breast reduction forums reading everything I possibly can about this so as to clam myself down.  It's weird, I am so excited as well as scared at the same time.  Only me!!!!! LOL.  My biggest problem right now seems to be that fact that I keep questioning whether I am doing the right thing, and for the right reasons.  I am sure others have had these thoughts too but I am really struggling with this.

I went shopping today, bought a case of bottled water (which I will open all to loosen lids before the surgery) and I got some baskets and cool compresses, which I have found out that I can't use probably.  Apparently anything cool can interfere with circulation.  So I will have to find something else that will help I guess.

Wow am I ever having a rough day!!!  First off I get into an argument with this lady (she is actually one of the hosts) of this website I have been going to to get info on breast reductions.  It's a forum, so I have been  posting the odd question response etc.  Well this host everytime I post has something negative to say (ie. I am not doing something right, I should check with the plastic surgeon etc.)  I don't think she has thought that maybe I have.  Then today I ask a simple question, She gives me the answer............no problem right?...........well I post a ty for the answer and was actually surprised she didn't seem so negative.  I get a response back from her saying that "things like this are found on the FAQ page,  there is alot to know.  I know this doesn't sound that bad, but to me it sounded as though she was saying I am not doing my homework correctly!!  I was just a little pissed off about the whole thing. So I said something.  Oh Well I think my emotions are just running very high right now because of the stress of the surgery coming up!!

Wow, I can't believe I am only 3 days away!!.........well things have calmed down here.  I apologized to the host of the breast reduction boards I go to.  I think I was a complete bitch that day, and really she didn't deserve that.  She accepted my apology and I am very grateful as she really didn't need to.  I am ready for Monday, got all my stuff I need, Bras for post surgery, bottled water, lemons, pillows, blankets, a button down shirt, and hoodie that zips.  I hope I haven't forgotten anything.  I also bought lip balm for when I wake up, as I always get dry mouth when I first wake up from surgery.  I am nervous at the same time as being very excited about this.  I will check back in later. sarah.

April 9th, 2006

Okay yes it is April 9th, however it's really technically still April 8th as I haven't gone to bed yet!!LOL.  Anyway I think I am ready.....I have totally rearranged my home, here is the list of things I have done

1.  brought all the high stuff down and brought all the low stuff up.

2.  got baskets and containers for remotes, telephone, pens, paper, meds, etc.

3.  put 2 baskets in the bathroom so I could reach everything without bending or raising my arms.

4.  Bought baby wipes for the day I can not shower, and refreshing body spray! (for the arms and legs, NOT THE CHEST!!)

5.  purchased 1 surgical bra and had 2 given to me.

6.  purchased one pair of slip on shoes and a couple shirts that either zip up or button up.

7.  Got my laptop internet ready

8.  Made sure I had gauze and tape...just in case.

9.  Sorted the kids clothes for next week into days of the week for them.

10. Unscrewed all the lids on my bottled water so that they are easy to open.

11. Bought paper plates and plastic cups.

12.  made a few frozen casseroles, and purchased easy to make meals.  To get through 2 weeks

13.  Did all the laundry

14.  Made sure to wash all the sheets and pillows I plan to use when I come home.

15.  Made sure to have lots of movies on hand to watch.

16. Bought antibacterial soap for when I come home.
